Funeral services for Norma Jean Swearingen Matthews, 77, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Friday, June 21, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Matthews died June 17, 2013 at her residence.
A native of Palestine, Norma was a long time resident of Silsbee. She was a LVN, retiring from Silsbee Doctors Hospital after 32 years.
Mrs. Matthews is preceded in death by her sister Shirley Ann Hughes, son Curtis Wayne Mitchell and granddaughter Jena Medlin.
Survivors include sons, Billy Joseph Mitchell and Dennis Ray Mitchell and wife Cheryl, all of Silsbee; daughter Shirley Marie Griffis and husband Howard of Buna, Tommie Jean Moore and husband Jim of Silsbee and Michelle Crow and husband Robert of Lumberton; brothers James H Swearingen and wife Sandy of Tampa, FL, Jerry Swearingen and wife Linda of California and Danny Reneau and wife Carolyn of Buna; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
