Max E JohnstoneMax Eugene Johnstone (Tater) left this life on June 20,2013. He resided in Bandera TX living with his daughter Lori and son in-law Charlie Cole.Max was born on Feb.7, 1922 The son of Willie Barnes and Octavia Lucinda Johnstone. Max passed away peacefully in his sleep at Bandera Rehab and Nursing Center. He was 91 years old. Max received his early education in Guelph Towship,Sumner County Kansas,at Racket School . Max entered the US.Army on September 25,1942. He was Honorably Discharged on September 25,1945. Max married Jacqueline Shaw on Feb.23,1946. They had 6 children Steven Max,Debra Kay Heady,Paula Gay,David Ray,and Jeffery Craig all of Ponca City OK.,and Lori Ann of Bandera Tx. Max became a Free Mason in 1949. He worked most of his life in the oil fields. His work took them from Oklahoma to California then to Anchorage Alaska where Max retired in 1983. Max and Jackie then moved to Kansas for a short time then to Ponca City,OK. While retired Max loved fishing, gardening ,canning, and Jackie even got him to watch a few Soaps.

Max survivors include 5 children ,Deb Paula ,David Jeff and Lori ; 2 brothers Danny and Richard; 2 sisters, Mary Hardy and La Donna McIntyre; 13 grand children ,15 great grand children ,and 5 great great grand children.

Max was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs.W B Johnstone his wife Jackie ,1 son Steven Max ,1 grandson David Eugene ,7 brothers Jim, Bob , Pat , Wayne ,Jack ,Dudley, and Kenny, 3 sisters Mabelle Harrison ,Lucille Niebaum and Mae Jones Robinson.

At his request Mr Johnstone was cremated and his graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Newkirk Cemetery Friday July 5th 2013 with Jack Adams Pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship.

Arrangements are under direction of Miller - Stahl Funeral Service, cremation Service by Wright's Funeral Parlor of Kerrville TX .the family will gather for a luncheon at the home of Danny and Dottie Johnstone ,2300 Orile in Ponca City after the Services .
