Garnet M. Mealey, 83, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born August 26, 1929 in Fairmont, WV daughter of the late Fred and Ilda Lake Mealey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Hilbert D. Buddy Mealey and Jerry K. Mealey; one sister Edna Gray Hager; and one nephew Vance L. Mealey. She is survived by one brother Freddie Lee (Connie) Mealey of South Point, Ohio; nephews and nieces Brandon Mealey, Linda Pruitt, Steve Mealey, Ronnie Mealey, Connie Matthews, and Sonny Mealey; several great nieces and nephews; two step nieces Linda Bondurant and Michelle Oney; and special friend Brenda Dillon. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Proctorville, Ohio. She retired from Kaiser Aluminum. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Jeff Black. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova, WV.
