Fay Maxine Smathers, 88, of Willow Wood, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at The Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley, Ironton, Ohio. She was born August 7, 1924 in Scottown, Ohio daughter of the late George and Marie Walls Shuff. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry G. Smathers, Jr.; her siblings Albert Shuff, Elmo Shuff, Donald Shuff, Mary Callicoat and Audrey Shuff. Faye attended Linville United Baptist Church. She attended Windsor High School and retired from Corbins, Ltd. She is survived by two sons Roger (Nettie) Smathers and Paul Danny (Debbie) Smathers; two daughters Connie Susie (Drexel) Clark and Marsha (John) Kelley; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and siblings Sam Shuff, Lowell Joe Shuff, Lloyd Shuff and Beulah Shuff. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at The Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Mike Triplett. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Willow Wood, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Dearest Cousins, you are in out thoughts and prayers during this time of grief. Rojoice in knowing that another angel has gone on to meet our Saviour. Maxine was a lovely lady and a caring woman. One of "Aunt Edna's" favorites.
