Funeral services for Ruth Andrews, 89, of Evadale will be 10:00 am Friday, July 12, 2013 at Central Baptist Church in Evadale with interment following in Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday at Farmer Funeral Home.
Ruth was born February 9, 1924 to Auther and Bessie Darwin in Adkens LA, near Shreveport. She was the last of eleven children. At six weeks of age, her family moved to Texas where she has resided ever since. She moved to Evadale in October of 1932 at the age of eight years old and met her future husband, Pat Andrews. Ruth and Pat were married December 21, 1941, to which four children were born, Charles, Linda, Darlene and Tim. They were married for almost fifty years before Pats death in September of 1991.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, six brothers, four sisters and her husband.
Ruth is survived by her four children, Charles (Punk) Andrews and wife Phyllis of Evadale, Linda Welsh of Evadale, Darlene Watson and husband Claude of Crockett and Timothy Andrews and wife Tammie of Evadale; ten grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, several great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mamas victory in Christ came on July 10, 2013. She has a new address now. She fought the good fight and she finished her course.
