Harold K. BrewerHarold K. Brewer was called from this life to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2013. Harold was born on May 19, 1921 in Paint Rock, Alabama to Floyd and Essie Brewer, moving to Rio Rico in 1929. Harold and his brother, Archie, both served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Harold distinguished himself with 49 missions in a B-17 as a top turret gunner and flight engineer. He received over 20 combat citations to include the Distinguished Flying Cross and a Purple Heart. He married Dorinda Schrank on Dec 21, 1946 in the First Presbyterian Church of Mercedes. After owning a Texaco service station for several years, he took a job as a milk hauler for Hygeia Milk Company, where he worked until retirement in 1987. Harold received safety awards every year for his driving. Harold loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He passed these passions along to his sons and heirs. He was a faithful husband and father, as well as an avid reader and conversationalist. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Essie; brother, Archie and grandson Paul. He is survived by his wife, Dorinda; children, Ken and wife Sallie, Martin and wife Kathy, Karen and husband Edward, Billy and wife Kim; grandchildren, Chantille, Heather, Rebecca, Brian, Amber and Keely; three great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; sister in law Margie; one niece and two nephews. Memorial service will be 2pm, Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Wrights Funeral Parlor, Kerrville with Reverend Rebecca Walker, granddaughter of Harold and Dorinda, conducting the service.

I was fortunate to know this fine person . Mr. Brewer was and will always be remembered as a hard working , honest , patriotic , god fearing , family loving American man ! My condolence to all the family. God Bless You Mr. Brewer
