Miss Carolyn Dean Farriss, 81, of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. Funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Rick Frazer. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio. Carolyn was born June 22, 1932 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Omer and Hazel Dean Varnum Farriss. She was a member of Highlawn United Methodist Church. She attended Underwood Senior Center where she sang in the choir and volunteered. She was preceded in death by her sisters Anna Griffith Farriss and Mary Lou Smith; and a nephew Gregory Lee Smith. She is survived by her niece Dee Anna Rucker and her husband Tim and their children Matthew (Marissa) Rucker of Canton, Ohio, Sarah Rucker of Kansas City, MO, and Cassie Rucker of Proctorville, Ohio; Susan Smith (Matt) Tweel and son Jace Tweel of Proctorville, Ohio, and daughter Kristy Smith (Chris) Olsen and their children Capri and Heidi of Kansas City, KS. Carolyn was such a sweet lady. We always enjoyed Carolyn and Anna walking by the parsonage and having a friendly chat. God bless Dee and all of the family.

Carolyn was such a sweet lady. She will be missed. She was always willing to help others. She had a beautiful singing voice. My condolences to her family and friends! I am so sorry!
