Funeral services for Thomas Wayne Bertrand, 77, of Lumberton will be 3:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 1 PM Friday until time of service.
Mr. Bertrand died August 8, 2013 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Iowa, LA, Thomas was a 29 year resident of the Silsbee/Lumberton area and was a member of Woodcrest Methodist Church. He was employed by Eastex Paper Mill for 21 years before retiring. Mr. Bertrand proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Air Force and was a retired military veteran.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Rose Mae Arville Bertrand, sisters Marie Salazar and Odette Knight and brothers Leo and Melvin Peloquin.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife of almost 54 years, Lorene Virginia Rider Bertrand of Lumberton; son Tony Allen Bertrand and wife Pam of Spurger; daughter Michelle Jean Warren of Lumberton; brother Earl Joseph Bertrand of Phoenix AZ; granddaughters Amanda Bertrand, Amber Coleman and husband Jeremy and Sabrina Bertrand; step-children Rusty Mathis and Mandy McKinley and great grandson Hayden Coleman.
