1947 - 2013
Ronald L. Thomas, 65, of Houston, was born November 25, 1947 in Silsbee, Texas to H. A. and Fay Thomas and passed away August 10, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his father, H. A. Thomas. Ronald is survived by his mother, Fay Thomas; his beloved wife and best friend, Sherry S. Thomas; his son Brad Thomas and wife Diana and their children, Sydnee and Aidan; his son David Thomas; his daughter Leah Thomas and her boyfriend Caleb Willhelm; his brother Donald G. Thomas and wife Dorothy; and his sister Cheryl Stutzenburg.
Ronald graduated from Lamar University and started his career as a certified public accountant at Arthur Andersen in Houston. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan.
He loved his time in Japan, music, golf, playing blackjack, his hunting lease near Fort Stockton, his home on the coast of Alabama, and making Sherry laugh, which he did every day. Ronald was an incredible husband and father and was so proud of each of his children and their accomplishments.
Services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 15015 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, with a reception to follow in the Church's Parish Hall. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 16, 2013 at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery, 105 South 3rd Street, Silsbee, Texas with a reception following in the Parish Hall of St. John's Episcopal Church, 1305 Roosevelt Drive, Silsbee, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church (designating the Memorial Fund).

Ron has been our dear and steadfast friend. He made us laugh. No matter the inevitability of death, and even the almost certainty of timing, it never gets any easier. We are sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for ur loss! It just seems like yesterday we were roaming around Honey Island with our BB guns. After ur move to Silsbee I remember coming over to pic a little guitar & jive to the sax music. I remember thinking @ the time; what a beautiful home & sister & relationship with each other you all had. In Love - Kenny
