Edmund Ed Allen, 81, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at home. He was born January 21, 1932 in Cambridge, Mass., son of the late Joseph and Catherine Murphy Allen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dottie Jean Allen. He is survived by one daughter Colleen Nelson; three sons Michael (Karen) Allen of Chesapeake, Ohio, Keith (Lynn) Allen of Virginia, Ed (Angel) Allen of Scottown, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was a member of Sanctuary of Grace Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was also a member of the YMCA for over 30 years. Mr. Allen was Scout Master for troop 26 in Proctorville, Ohio for many years. He was owner of the Fourth Avenue Peanut Shop for over 20 years. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Todd Kincaid. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio.
