Frank James Arnold Jr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1927 - 2013

Frank James Arnold Jr. Funeral services for Frank James Arnold Jr., 86, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 6, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Frank passed away September 1, 2013 at Silsbee Convalescent Center.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Silsbee. The Frank Arnold Night Club was a family owned business established in 1936 by his parents which burned in 1963. The Cottage was opened in 1965. The restaurant is located in the family home where Frank and Flo raised their four children. The Arnolds created a homey atmosphere where old and new friends gather not only to eat delicious home cooked meals but to catch up on old times, the latest news and local gossip, where everyone felt welcome.

Frank retired from Arco after 47 years of service and was active in his community in the Chamber of Commerce and Little Theater. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank James Arnold Sr. and Agnes F. Peters Arnold, sons Larry William Arnold and Frank James Arnold III, brother Floyd C. Arnold and nephew Floyd E. 'Bo' Arnold.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Flora 'Flo' Burch Arnold of Silsbee; daughters Frankie Pell and husband Jim of Silsbee, Agnes 'Aggie' Hall and husband Wayne of Kirbyville and Becky White and husband John Pat of Silsbee; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Frankie, I was so sad to hear about the passing of your dad. He was a wonderful person & was liked by everyone. He will truly be missed. Take each day as it comes & it will get easier, but you will never forget him. Love I Christ.
