Clarence Dayrel Mathews, 62, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Friday September 6, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center Huntington, WV. He was born November 27, 1950 in Huntington, WV to the late Clarence and Marie James Mathews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Retha K. Mathews. He retired from Owens Illinois. He was a Vietnam Army veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne and was awarded the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife Pamela Mathews; stepmother Barbara Mathews Hall; two daughters Tina Marie (Scott) Bowen, and Stacie Mathews; one stepdaughter Cycelee (Michael) Hastings; two sisters JoAnn (Ernie) Hargis, and Debbie Sexton (Ronnie) Moss; two brothers James (Diane) Mathews and Alan Mathews; six grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and special friend Gene Fulks. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday September 10, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Getaway Cemetery Chesapeake, Ohio. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday September 10, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home.
