Harold Lloyd GardnerHarold Gardner passed away on September 12, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was born March 13, 1927 in Warren to Lester and Jessie Gardner.

Mr. Gardner has been a resident of Silsbee since 1962. Harold was a World War II veteran. He retired from Silsbee Independent School District after 36 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mattie Lea Gardner of Silsbee; sons Larry Gardner and wife Karen of Silsbee and Harry Gardner and wife Nancy of Zavalla; newphew Bill Wiggins and wife Toni Jo of Silsbee; sisters Gertrude Glenn of Lumberton and Bobbie Hatton of Warren; grandchildren Lee Evan Gardner and Lacy of Beaumont, Katie Parish and husband Justin of Buna, Jason Gardner of Houston, Reese Gardner and wife Dayna of North Carolina and Victoria Gardner of Tyler.

A gathering of Harold's family and friends will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at Farmer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Silsbee with interment following in Lindsey Cemetery in Warren.

Lea, Larry and Harry, I'm so sorry to hear about Harold. I just saw him Sept. 1 at church in Silsbee. I have a lot of fond memories of him and held him in great respect. Remembering y'all in prayer, Doug & Lynnett Ratchford.
