 Michael D. Faulkner, Sr.,43, of Huntington, WV formerly of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Mike was born July 20, 1970 in Huntington, WV son of Alice McCormick and Froud Faulkner, Jr. In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving sister Sherri Faulkner Adkins and her husband Robert; his children Michael, Jr., Wyatt Hunter Faulkner, and Julia Faulkner Ferguson; special little sister Brittani McCormick Schaeffer (Matthew and Lian), step dad Jerry Spaulding; his childrens mothers Denise Faulkner and Tami Ferguson Gillenwater; special nephews Jason David Gibson and Jared Daniel Stanley; great nephew Rowan Gibson; aunts Rita Murphy and family, Kathy McCormick and family, Joyce Clark and family, Carol Myers and family, Charlotte Marsh and family, Brenda Ferguson and family, Dreama Layne and family, Opal Bird and family, Cookie Johnson and family, Bonnie Rainey and family; uncles Tim McCormick and family, Robert McCormick and family, Chuck McCormick and family, Gary McCormick, Larry McCormick and James Faulkner; and many loving cousins to many to mention. He was preceded in death by grandparents Damer and Edna Woods McCormick, Frank and Essie Faulkner; uncles Greg, Rick and Bud McCormick, and Floyd "Toy" Black; aunts Sharon Walters and Pansy Chapman; cousins Timothy Faulkner, Jennifer Brookover, and Dwaine J. Combs. Mike graduated from Fairland High School class of 1989. He proudly served on the Proctorville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Scott Chandler. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home. To everyone who knew Mike he will be missed. Pallbearers will be Wyatt, Hunter, and Michael Faulkner, Jason Gibson, Tim McCormick, Larry and Steve Walters, and Rusty Thomas McCormick. Mike I still can't believe your gone. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about u. U always had a smile on ur face and the best laugh. I will miss ur smile and laugh so much. I know I have a guardian Angel watchin over all of us. I love u Mikey and miss u dearly!

I could not believe the bad news when I got the message. He was still so young. Wish I knew what happened. Has anybody told my brother he would love to show his respect to his family since they was good friends. This is Chris little sister. I hate to hear about this. Mike was a good man. I always say the good go first. I lost both my parents. Im always here is anybody needs to vent.

Dear Faulkner Family: I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing your son for a brief time. He was a gentleman. Always respectful and kind. I don't recall him ever using a curse word.
