Funeral services for Jim Thomas Grissom, 74, of Spurger, will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Grissom died October 20, 2013 at his residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Spurger, Jim retired from Mead Westvaco. He was a deacon of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Ottis and Annie Lou Odom Grissom; infant son Jimmy Ray Grissom; brother Wade Grissom and sisters Geneva Franklin and Louise Stephens.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Ruby Ann Walters Grissom of Spurger; sons Jim Edward Grissom and wife April of Woodville and Ricky LeWayne Grissom and wife Syria of Spurger; brothers J O Grissom and wife Elsie of Silsbee, Lonnie B Grissom Sr and wife Joyce of Woodville, Gilbert Grissom and wife Ceyle of Gatesville, Leon Grissom and wife Shirley of Spurger and Melvin Grissom and wife Carolyn of Bowie and sister-in-law Annie Lee Grissom of Silsbee. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Jim Brandon "Jimmy" Grissom, Jenna Grissom Wheeler, Kaylee Grissom, Kyle Grissom, Daniel Beam, Kenny McNatt, Anthony McNatt, Joshua Thomas Grissom, Zechariah Grissom and Caleb Grissom.
