William Arthur Fontaine Sr. Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1927 - 2013 A military graveside service for William Arthur Fontaine Sr., 86, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Saturday at R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Mr. Fontaine passed away November 6, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of Detroit MI, Bill grew up in Cameron TX on the family farm and enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Little River. He moved to Silsbee in 1961. He was employed by Unical and worked as an instrumentation supervisor until retiring. Mr. Fontaine proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Rodney King and Marriette Mapes Fontaine. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 59 years, Jennie Marjorine Wooten Fontaine of Silsbee; sons W A 'Billy' Fontaine Jr and wife Rachel of Katy, Jerald Wayne Fontaine of Silsbee and David Lynn Fontaine and wife Margret of Hemphill; daughter Cynthia Diane Slaughter and husband Randy of Beaumont; sisters Joy Shope of San Diego CA and Ann Gough of Oceanside CA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Just found out about Bill's passing.I had the privilege of sharing a hunting camp with him, years ago. What a wonderful character, and what a great teacher. He taught me many things about being outdoors, and dominoes! He will be missed by all whose life he touched. My condolences to the entire family.
