Donald Ray Unruh, 80, of Silsbee, earned his wings and left this earth to be with his heavenly Father on December 3, 2013. He was born in Galva, KS to Reuben and Tena Reimer Unruh o May 14, 1933. He retired as chief draftsman for Sandoz/BASF but always worked as a home builder and in carpentry, which was his passion.
Mr. Unruh was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Maxine Krehbiel Unruh.
He is survived by his wife Betty Chauvin Unruh of Silsbee; sons David of CA, Darwin and friend Desiree of Silsbee and Daryl and wife Billie of McPherson KS; daughters Donna Nolen and husband Dale of Silsbee and Cindy Routt and husband Joseph of Lumberton. He has eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and another due in April. Donald also has two brothers and a sister, Irl Unruh and wife Jackie of Marble Falls and Jerry Unruh of McPherson KS and sister Kathy Sangwin and husband Chester of Silsbee and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, December 7,2013 at Cathedral In The Pines with interment following in Greenlawn Cemetery in Port Arthur. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm December 6th at the church.
