The love and joy of her life are carried on by her 4 strong daughters, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her brother Bill Heap from Canyon Lake, an extended family of relatives she loves, and close friends who she chose to spend her time with. While Betty was here, she taught us many, many things in her 66 years.
Among them:
If a squirrel moves into your shed, try to coax him out with a loud squirrel chaser, but if he wins, catch him, and relocate him to a pasture a few miles away.
Go to church every chance you get, and go out to dinner with your friends afterwards.
Relationships come and go, despite our best efforts to keep them. So, dont let anyone else be in control of your happiness.
Try the spinach enchiladas at Mamacitas with a margarita. The calories are enough for the day but oh-so-worth-it.
Laugh often. And Much.
Be with your family every chance you get, even if they live in another country.
When you travel abroad and cannot speak the language, learn to ask for help with an accent.
When you are young, enjoy it, and dance.
Did you know that in hard times, beans and rice make a complete protein?
Eat a banana every morning so that you get your daily dose of potassium and by the way, it tastes good.
When you babysit other people´s children, remember you have a lot to teach them, so teach them well.
Do the best you can with the money you have, no matter what your children say they discovered online.

When you are faced with the tough decisions in life, including death, do it bravely, with a smile and dignity, and move on.
Say your prayers because, even when everything seems lost, God is still listening.
In her lifetime, Betty made a difference in the lives of the people she met. Those who've taken her lessons to heart will continue to turn a good life into something GREAT for those around them.
She is most proud of her children and grandchildren whose photos she would share with prospective friends in the checkout line at HEB and Wal-Mart:
Memory Landrum (husband Joe, children Falon, Jason, Lisa, Dustin, Kari, and Daniel); Iva Gass (husband Tim, children Tony and Nikki Hobson); Susie Seidensticker (husband Burt, children Jason, Ryan, Brogan, Alex, and Brooklyn); Renée Moore, Ph.D. (no husband and no children because she was way too busy building 10 companies in around the world); brother Bill Heap (children Keith and Michael); and many great grandchildren, in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but celebrated, honored and most certainly, not forgotten.
Betty is reunited with her amazing father and mother: George and Alice Heap who never retired, but worked as ranchers enjoying the fresh air in Kerrville until they passed at age 86 and 85 respectively, and her younger brother Butch Heap who passed away in 1977.
We are grateful for the love, joy and learning she brought into our lives, and comforted that she will always be with us.
