Mercedes Ratliff Deskins, 94, of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday December 18, 2013 in Grand Traverse Pavilion Nursing Center Traverse City, MI. She was born June 5, 1919 in Huntington, WV to the late Curtis Sherman and Garnet Gooderham Ratliff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alex Deskins; infant son Allen Deskins; sister Olive Ratliff; and aunt Grace Kearns. She was a member of Highlawn Methodist Church Huntington, WV. She is survived by three daughters Olive (Terry) Davis of Indiana, Jane Renwick of Indiana, and Anna (Bob) Gregorich of Michigan; four sons David (Peggy) Deskins of Huntington, WV, Eddie Deskins of Indore, WV, Alex (Karen) Deskins of West Viriginia, and Earl (Karen) Deskins of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday December 23, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home by Rev. Steven Hamrick and Rev. Keith Leap. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Miller, Ohio.
