To Hugh and Jon's family: I was so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. We had been corresponding for some time and I had enjoyed hearing from him and learning about his life after high school. Our family was good friends growing up and I wish we had kept our old friendship up during all these years.

I remember Jon fondly as he watched my children grow through regular visits to the library. When we last bumped into each other in the HEB lot, he asked about my daughter and remembered her nickname "Peanut." Hoping our son Jack might connect with you on the other side and say hello. We enjoyed your presence and patience. Godspeed.

I was so sorry to learn of Jon's passing. I worked with Jon for 4 years. I knew him from going to the library in the early 1980's. He was a pleasure to talk with. I hope he is at peace now.

I will miss Jon's gentle and helpful presence at the history center. I never knew him to be unpleasant and he always took the time to ask me how I was doing. His family is in my prayers.
