1928 - 2014
 Mr. Bruce M. Rasmussen, age 85 of Belding, formerly of Greenville, died Sunday evening, January 12, 2014 at Metron of Belding. He was born July 3, 1928, the son of Harry and Pauline (Larsen) Rasmussen. He graduated from Greenville Senior High School, class of 1947. On April 23, 1949, he married Rosalyn "Roz" Nielsen. Bruce owned the former Bruces Bootery in Greenville during the 1950s. He also was involved in the ownership or operation of Rasmussen Shoes, Excel Realty, and several other area business enterprises. He was active in many capacities, including as a member of the First Congregational Church of Stanton and the Greenville Lions Club. Above all, he was a devoted family man. His wife, Roz, preceded him in death, as did his mother, Pauline; son, Jeffery; step-brother and sister, Alfred and Ethel Lytle; brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Shirley Nielsen; step-brother, Elden Petersen; and daughter-in-law, Patty Rasmussen Doxie. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Robin Rasmussen; grandchildren, Brooke (John) Judd, Joshua (Sarah) Rasmussen, Jacob Rasmussen, Justin Rasmussen, and Jonathan Rasmussen; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Petersen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Jack Jorgensen; fiancée, Glenna Godfrey Cowles; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services including committal will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, Pastor Jamey Nichols of the First Congregational Church of Stanton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Private interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to Great Lakes Caring Hospice. |

To all of Bruce's family we are so very for your loss. Bruce was such a gentleman and so much fun. We always looked forward to seeing him at the Larsen Family Reunion and hearing his stories and learning about our family history.
