Bobby Ray Gates Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1931 - 2014 A memorial service for Bobby Ray Gates, 82, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home. Mr. Gates died January 20, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Sudan, TX, he was a long time resident of this area. Mr. Gates proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Port Neches VFW. He retired from BF Goodrich. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pink Gates and Ethel Damron Hale and sisters Mary Alice Jones and Dorothy Scott. Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Nancy Benton Gates of Silsbee; son Billy Gates of Atascosita; daughter Debbie Gates Mathis and husband Jerry of Mauriceville; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Gates memory to the St. Jude Childrens Fund.
