1922 - 2014
Mary Alberdine "Al" Smith, age 91, formerly of Greenville and Howard City, died Tuesday morning, January 21, 2014 at her home in Kentwood. She was born August 29, 1922, the daughter of James and Jessie Mooney. She is survived by her children, Sandy (Dan) House and Stephen Smith; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Smith; daughter, Sharon Smith; three grandchildren; two siblings; and her longtime companion, Morton Welch. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Charnley of the Greenville First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the spring at Ashley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan.

Thoughts and prayers to out to Al's family and loved ones. I remember going out to Aunt Wilma's and visiting with Al. A very sweet lady. RIP

She has been a wonderful MOM and GRANDMA,GREAT GRANDMA too are family. The fun we had at CHRISTMAS with her and my dad was always the best time .SHE will be missed by all of use and we love her very much
