Dolores & family, I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I wish I could come to the service but I am just getting caught up from being in WV for Mom's funeral. It is so hard to let go of our parents, even when it is their time. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss. Please send me your email, Delores, I have a picture I want to send to you.

SOUTHERN OHIO AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION (SOARA ) It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we must list another one of our members as a silent key, Robert (Bob) Lawhon, KB8PIB. Bob was a faithful, dedicated member of SOARA - ARES-RACES for many years during the nineties until medical problems prevented his active participation A silent key is an amateur radio operator who has passed away. The key is in reference to the telegraph key used to transmit Morse code. In modern amateur radio, Morse code is used less however its status is so iconic that most people in the amateur radio community understand the reference. Below is a link to SOARA - ARES webpage listing out silent keys. http://www.orgsites.com/oh/soaraares/_pgg10.php3
