Funeral services for Robert Jerry Flowers Sr., 74, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Flowers passed away peacefully February 10, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont surrounded by his family. He fought a heroic battle with cancer for thirteen years.

Jerry worked as a papermaker at Mead Westvaco in Evadale before retiring. He lived in Silsbee for 53 years, was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He loved his Lord, his family and fishing and never met a stranger. He was loved by all who knew him.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Franklin Flowers and Velma May Adkins Flowers Davis, sister Lavida Cochran and brother Mike Flowers.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 30 years, Donna Lee Phillips Flowers of Silsbee; son Jay Flowers of Silsbee; daughters Cindy Parker and fiancé Daniel Rodano of Tomball, Cathy Campos and husband Arturo of Kyle, Brooke Steele and husband Neil of Dam B and Leann Decker and husband John of Lumberton; sister Betty Horn of Terrell; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.

Donna, words cannot say how I feel. You and Jerry both knew you are in my heart always. So happy and proud to have known this beautiful man. I ask God to keep you through this time and know you are not alone. We love you and Jerry will be missed but forever alive within us!
