Funeral services for James Andrew Tucker, 67, of Kountze, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Holland Cemetery in Kountze. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Tucker died February 18, 2014 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
Born in Caneyhead and a lifelong resident of Hardin County, Mr. Tucker retired from Southern Pacific Railroad as a carman welder. He owned Triple T Sporting Goods in Kountze for many years before retiring a second time. James was a member of Big Thicket Baptist Church in Kountze and proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the National Rifle Assn, Texas State Rifle Assn, and Gunsmiths of America. He was also a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans Company D, Spaights Battalion, Camp 2251, Silsbee, TX, and a member of the charity re-enactors, the Big Thicket Outlaws.
James enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, researching the War Between the States, re-enacting engagements with his grandchildren and family genealogy.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, Bradford Leon and Amie Evelyn Jenkins Tucker, son Andy Tucker and brother Herman Tucker.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 48 years, Sondra Jean Jasper Tucker of Kountze; son Bradford Tucker and wife Renee of Azle; daughters Cindy Baker and husband Steve of Kountze and Beckie Brown and husband Bubba of Sour Lake; brother Danny Tucker and wife Bonnie of Buna; sister Gail McGraw of Silsbee; seventeen grandchildren, Jamie Crain and husband Anthony, Malishia McGallion and husband Lucas, Stephanie Buckner and husband Kristofer, Colton Yount and wife Ashley, Carlton Tucker, Isabella Tucker, Jerred White, Jessica White, Jerrica White, Ashlyn Tucker, William Tucker, Jacob White, Mary Tucker, Charles Tucker, Sheldon Williams, Josh Williams and Jordan Williams and great grandchildren, A J Crain, Allyson Crain, Justice Crain, Thomas Winger, Taylor McGallion, Amie McGallion and Kaleb Buckner.

My prayers to your family of James. He did love to research genealogy . There were times I remember him coming to my mother's house ; he would sit with & talk of family members. James had a great memory. So sorry that he was taken so soon.

I met James in 1969+ when we started Woking for SP railroad. We were just young punk kids then.we work hard but we played harder.over the years we grew as brothers. James I well miss you my old friend love you butch.
