John A. Stark John A. Stark, 85, of Mountain Home, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at River Hills Health & Rehab Center in Kerrville Texas.

John was born April 17, 1928, in Bloomingdale, IL, to John A. and Rose B. Stark.

The youngest of three boys, John was raised on his parents farm in Cloverdale, IL. John married his wife Ethel (Pat) in 1949. They moved to Marengo, IL. where they raised their children and were residents of Marengo for over 40 years. John was a truck driver most of his life (Suburban Teamsters of Northern Illinois) and a part time farmer until his retirement. He was a quiet, gentle, caring, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. John enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, RVing and talking or playing cards with friends and family. John and Pat were members of the Family Motor Coach Association (Illinois) and the Moose Lodge in Woodstock Illinois. In 1997 they moved from Marengo to Llano Grande Lake Park in Mercedes, TX. They were happily married for 58 years until Pat's passing in 2007 from pancreatic cancer. John moved next to his son in Mountain Home, TX in 2007 were he lived until his hospitalization in December 2013.

John is survived by his four children, Joyce, Donna, Russell and Rhonda; five grandchildren, John, Ken, Matthew, David and Amanda; and six great-grandchildren, Macey, Gage, Skylah, Johnny, Autumn and Violet; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. He is loved and will be missed by many other family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Oscar in WWII, his wife Pat and his brother Leroy who passed in June of 2013.

The family wishes to thank the staff of River Hills Health & Rehab and Ave Maria Hospice for their loving and outstanding care of John.

Per John's wishes, his body will be cremated, with no services. John will be interred with Pat at a later date.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society, Ave Maria Hospice www.avemariahospice-tx.com or to the charity of one's choice.
