1937 - 2014
 Lotus Carolyn von Kronenberger, age 76, passed away Friday morning, February 28, 2014 at her home in Gowen. She was born July 2, 1937 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Emmett and Inez (Bullock) Horton. She retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company after 35 years of service. She was an incredibly gracious, hardworking woman, always unselfishly giving of her time and resources and putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She was humble, thoughtful, and spiritual, and will be deeply missed, especially by her children, Teresa Webster of Gowen, Kim (Bridgid) von Kronenberger of West Branch, and Shawn von Kronenberger of Gowen; grandchildren, Jesse Lincoln, Samuel Webster, Erin, Amy, Michael, and Mary von Kronenberger, and Courtney, Nathan, Alyssa, and Lucas von Kronenberger. She was preceded in death by her brother, Major Horton; and sister, Daphne Brough. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the prayer service. Pastor Zachary Nyhuis of Gowen Bible Church will serve as officiant. Private interment will be in the spring. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice.
