1920 - 2014
James P. McCoy, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Sunday March 2, 2014. He was born November 29, 1920, to the late James P. and Emma Collins McCoy. He was a WWII Naval veteran and a VFW member and a Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Hope McCoy; sisters, Ivel Deacon, Dolly Honaker, and Virginia Fortner. He is survived by three children, James P. McCoy III, Patricia Dalton, and Jennifer Szendi-Horvath. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Michael McCoy, Kristian Szendi-Horvath, Tia Szendi-Horvath, Edward Dalton,Sean McCoy, and Josh McNeil. A private celebration of life will be held by the family. The family extends their immense gratitude to Rev. Carl and Patricia Mouser, Hospice of Huntington and Pro-Nursing. Jennifer, we are saddened to hear of your father's passing. Losing a parent is like losing a connection to your childhood. The roles were reversed in recent yars, but we know that you will always treasure the opportunities you had to take care of your father. May God bless you and comfort you in your grief.
