Charles Charlie Ronald Day, 66, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Friday March 14, 2014 at home. He was born December 29, 1947 in Chesapeake, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father Oval Lee Day Sr.; mother and stepfather Nellie and Orville Totsie Canterbury; two sisters Donna Jean Day and Frankie Wallace; two brothers Oval Lee Day Jr. and Thurman Day; and brother-in-law Paul Wallace. He was a Vietnam Army veteran receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Charlie retired from Owens Illinois after 20 years of service. He is survived by four brothers Paul (Carol) Day of Dayton, Ohio, Billy (Wilma) Day of Walton, KY, Larry (Beth) Day of Chesapeake, Ohio and Robert (Dianna) Day of Chesapeake, Ohio; two sisters Linda Pike of Chesapeake, Ohio and Phyllis Brady of Proctorville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday March 17, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home by Pastor Eric Wallace. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery Proctorville, Ohio. Proctorville VFW Post #6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday March 16, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio. I work with Charlie at Owens he was a great person to be around,and he and Harry Brady shared a great lady ,Phyllis ,god bless his family,and rest in peace ole friend.
