1921 - 2014
 Freddie Virginia Markins, 93, of Milton, WV, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at Wallace Funeral Home in Milton, WV, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Winford Curry officiating. She was born February 24, 1921, in Milton, WV, a daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Beckett Carter. Freddie was a life long member of Susannah Baptist Church. She loved her church and church family with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Janet Lynn Markins. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leonard Markins; her daughter Lois Weatherholt; her sons, Sam and Kenner Markins, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. The family would like to thank Michael Collins and Myron Lewis for their care of mom during her illness. Our words can't express our gratitude to the nurses, staff, and doctors of Hospice House for the loving care and support given to our mom and our family during this difficult time. The family will receive friends at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday March 21, 2014. Burial will be at the Enon Cemetery following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any donations be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House at 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702 in her name. I am so sorry for your loss. I know she will be missed more than words could ever say and leave a spot on each one of your hearts that feels empty. But we must remember she is in a heavenly place and some day we will see her again. She loved you all very much and that is what you hold on to and remembering all the good times you had with her. You must take care of each other now. Take care of yourselves.

So sorry for the loss of your mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and very much loved friend. Prayers are with you all but I can't be there. Caring for my grandsons while their mom and dad work. I love you all.

I know we only met a few times. But you clearly lived a wonderful life. Peace in heaven as you were on earth. Everyone will miss you a great deal.
