1920 - 2014
Ruth May OConnor Scaggs, 93, of Barboursville, WV, went to be with the Lord March 22, 2014. A very giving and loving person, she was born July 20, 1920, a daughter of the late Mollie Farley Cabell May and Eustace Clinton May. In the 1950s, she worked at the Sylvania Plant then had various different jobs. She became an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. Preceding her in death was her husband James Scaggs; three sisters, Georgia Venoy, Susan Finley and Stowe Thomas; three brothers, Clinton May (Bearcat), Frank Cabell and Douglas Cabell. She is survived by her only daughter, Mollie Hinchman and three grandsons and their spouses, Daniel Hinchman, Joseph and Kimberly Hinchman, Michael and Donna Hinchman, nephews and nieces. She was also survived by two great grandsons and their spouses, Trent and Brandi Hinchman, Bryan and Alissa Hinchman, one great granddaughter, Bethany Hinchman, two great-great grandsons, Bennett and Grant Hinchman. A special thanks to all the wonderful professionals at Heritage Center for the care they gave. Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville will host a viewing on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel Monday, March 24, 2014 by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial will be at Swann Cemetery on Malcolm Road, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church of your choice or The Gideons International, Cabell Lincoln Gideons, P.O. Box 21, Ona, WV 25545. Mollie, I am so sorry to read the passing of your mother. She was one of a kind a dear friend, I worked with her at Heck's and she would pick me up and we would ride to work together many times. She loved you and her grand children very much. I remember when her and James (Jim) started seeing each other. I have nothing but fond memory of her. My deepest sympathy.

to the family of ruth scaggs....i was a neighbor of ruth for many years on hall street in wayne, wva until she was unable to really care for herself and she went to live her life with her daughter, mollie. i am so sorry to hear this about ruth....ruth, my spouse dixie and my self made so many memories together and also ruth and myself alone before i got married in 1998 made so many memories together along with my late father and my surviving mother.....i was blessed to be ruths neighbor since the late 1980's....i used to wash and wax their car and mow their lawn for them.....i can't be at the funeral home tonight or on monday due to health issues but my heart goes out to the family and ruth's spirit will be right here with me even when she is laid to rest......gone but never forgotten...R.I.P....RUTH SCAGGS
