I was stunned to hear the news. Joyce was such a good friend to my mom and George went to school with my dad, so to me they've always seemed more like family than friends. I have a lot of childhood memories with them - all very good.
I will miss her very much.

Joyce was the epitomy of generosity. She never let you leave her house hungry or empty handed. She truly and deeply loved her friends and family. She treated all she met with kindness and love and greeted you always with a smile and a hug. She will be missed and will always be a part of my happiest childhood and adult memories.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joyce's family. Joyce was a great lady and I thought a lot of her. She made the best wedding cakes, I know because she did mine. When I moved away from Greenville about 20 years ago one of the things that I really missed was playing Push with Joyce and my Mom (Sylvia). She will be greatly missed!
