1926 - 2014
Charles F. Conner, 87, of Proctorville, Ohio went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 after a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. A Baptist Minister for 46 years preaching Gods word was his hearts desire and was always ready to go to Church even during his sickness he may have forgotten a lot of people but he always remembered the Lord and was a big supporter for his childrens singing ministry. He was a retired truck mechanic and a World War II Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Verna Moore Conner; step-mother Bonnie Lycan Conner; sister Ethel Scarberry; brother-in-law George Scarberry; four brothers Everett, Merrill and Paul Conner, and Homer Lycan; and a granddaughter Angie Jones. He is survived by a son Larry (Beverly) Conner of Flatwoods, KY; a granddaughter Spring Conner of Johnson City, TN; one daughter Linda (Frank) Warner of Proctorville, Ohio; and their precious mother Ida (Gail) Adkins of Barboursville, WV who devoted many caregiving hours, prayers and Charles called Gail His Friend; two sisters Wilma Creech of South Bend, IN, and Dorothy (Fred) Adkins of Ceredo, WV; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and Church families. The family extends a special thanks to all the caregivers and Rivers Bend Health Care Center, Dr. Apgar and Dr. Kathy Saber. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Walter Wood, Pastor Charles Turley and Pastor Hern Adkins. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Charles was the best father-in-law anyone could ever ask for. He was a positive, fun, loving popaw and a cornerstone in the community. His legacy will forever live in the hearts of those that knew him.
