Eugene Wallace Spitler Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1937 - 2014 Eugene Wallace Spitler, 76, of Chesapeake, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at home. He was born December 23, 1937 in Staunton, VA son of the late William and Antha Spitler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Isabelle Lyle. He was a member of Grace Gospel Church and retired from Corbin, LTD where he worked from 1976 to 1999. He is survived by his wife Mary Spitler; one daughter Dawn Gayle Spitler of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren Dallas JoAnn Spitler and Reed Caldwell; one step daughter Dee Darden and her husband Rev. Andrew Darden of Corbin, KY; and step granddaughter Avery Darden. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Rev. Andrew Darden. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. I will always remember the years I worked with Gene at Corbin's.He was a good friend and Supervisor.I want to express my deepest condolences to the entire family.God bless! we will see Gene one day in Heaven.

Dawn and family - So sorry to hear of your loss but know your dad is in a better place. I have only good memories of your dad - such a kind and gentle person! My favorite memory of him was riding with him down Pa-Pa's then gravel road and literally INCHING along so he wouldn't get his car dirty. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time!!

Dawn and family. I am so sorry to here about Gene. I worked with him at Corbins LTD for 22 years. He was a great friend. And I no he will be missed. But we all no, he is having a great time in Heaven. Love YOu Cheryl
