1943 - 2014

Wayne Russell Loding age 70 of Half Mile Lake Gowen passed away Friday evening April 4, 2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus Grand Rapids MI. He was born in Ionia County, MI on April 13,1943 the son of William A. and Emma Jane (Dean) Loding. His father preceded him in death on May 18 2000.

Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Greenville High School and graduated in electrical engineering from Devry University Chicago. He was the former owner of Rural Bottle Gas Co. and GTW of Greenville and a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Optimist Club and past president of Michigan LP Gas Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling , golfing and bocce ball. And he especially enjoyed his family whether visiting at the lake or in Arizona. He was married to Beverly J. Nelson September 25,1964 and was looking towards celebrating their 50 years of marriage this year.

He is survived by his wife Beverly, his mother Emma Jane Loding, his children, Jeffrey S.(Jennifer) Loding and Teresa L. (Matthew) Ashbaugh, grand children, Nicholas M. Ashbaugh, Emma Jean Loding, Tyler J. Ashbaugh, Samuel Wayne Loding and Alison Joan Loding, his sister Susan C. Kremers and nephews Troy (Jennifer) Kremers and James Kremers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Charnley officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place later this spring. Memorial contributions may be given to pancreatic cancer research foundation or to the First United Methodist Church (204 W. Cass St. Greenville MI 48838).

So very sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was one Great Guy. I always enjoyed his stories and sometimes he did have some good ones and they always ended with a develish smile.
