Ivan Julian Christian Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1925 - 2014 Ivan Julian Christian, 88, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 at home. He was born October 16, 1925 in Chesapeake, Ohio son of the late Roma and Myrtle Kitts Christian. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two wives Merle Christian and Pauline Christian; and one sister Emogene Sowards. He was a member of Greasy Ridge Church of Christ and retired from Higgins Chevrolet. He was also former President of the Eagles and former Windsor Township Trustee. Ivan was an avid baseball fan whose team played in the minor leagues and once had a tryout with the Reds. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Hamlin Simmons Christian; son and daughter-in-law Don and Connie Christian of Chesapeake, Ohio; two grandchildren Stephanie Christian of Milton, WV and Marti (Corey) Watson of Scottown, Ohio; four great grandchildren Brian Booth, Jr., Brittany Booth, Landon Watson and Nicholas Watson; two sisters Dorothy Moore of Chesapeake, Ohio and Lyndal Stephens of Gallipolis, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Minister Barry Kelley and Pastor Cleo Watson. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery, Chesapeake, Ohio. Visitation will be held 12 p.m. to 1p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Don & Connie, Im so sorry for your loss. I didnt know him, but I went to school with Connie. Don, I will be praying for you during this trying & painful time. My condolences to the Christian family.
