Jack  HatfieldJack Albert Hatfield, age 78 of Greenville, died Saturday evening, April 19, 2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born September 24, 1935 in Spokane, Washington, the son of Richard and Edna Hatfield. Jack sold automobiles for most of his career, coming to Greenville to work for Barney Everett and later working at Vito's and Jeff Branch motor sales. He was an active volunteer, and especially liked volunteering for the food bank. He served in the Army National Guard, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He took pride in mowing his yard and maintaining an immaculate lawn. He enjoyed watching the wildlife on the Hatfield property, including deer, turkey, crane, and geese. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dick Hatfield. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy; children, Kevin Chaffins of Greenville, Larry Chaffins of Greenville, and Melissa (Mike) Burdette of Lincoln, IN; two grandsons; one granddaughter; brothers, Don (Lois) Hatfield of Columbia City, IN and Steve (Norma) Hatfield of Columbia City, IN; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with Rev. William L. Overton officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment will be in East Montcalm Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jack's memory may be given to the Humane Society of West Michigan of to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Dorothy, My deepest sympathy to you at this time. Gosh, the years have flown by since the "Jeff Branch" times. We had a lot of good time at the Dealership and lots of memories. May you find peace and comfort knowing he is with our Lord and Savior. Betty
