Funeral services for Heubert Haywood Browning, 94, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 9, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday.
Mr. Browning passed away May 4, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A native of Merryville, LA, Heubert was a longtime resident of Nederland and Silsbee. He worked as an operator at Texaco for 35 years and was a member of the OCAW union. After retiring, he worked for Delta Security, Burns Security and Pinkerton as a security guard for 23 years. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy for 6 years.
Mr. Browning is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Dallas and Alice Mae Pickering Browning and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lydia Faye McGallion Browning of Silsbee; daughter Judy Darlene Browning Rasmussen and fiancé Devin Lee Stelly of Silsbee; special nephew Jeffery Earl McGallion of Silsbee; brothers, Kenneth Browning of Sour Lake and Washie Browning of Cleveland; sister Betty Walker of Hardin and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
