Eloise Orr Bell Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1937 - 2014

Eloise Orr BellEloise Orr Bell, 77, of Port Arthur, went to be with our Lord and Savior unexpectedly at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont on May 5, 2014.

Edna Eloise Orr was born February 19, 1937 in Granville, Ohio but moved to Southeast Texas at a young age. She graduated from South Park High School and attended Lamar University. Eloise married Samuel Bell in 1956 and they shared their lives together for 57 years in Port Acres, where they raised "four beautiful, precious daughters".

She was employed in the office at Alford's Supermarket for 20 years and made many friends there. Mrs. Bell was known to have a voice like an Angel and sang on many different occasions, bringing joy, light and laughter to all those she encountered. She proclaimed that her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a Mother and Grammie. Eloise was an active member of her church, choir, Sunday school class and loved her church family dearly. We were all blessed to have known her.

Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Emmitt Orr, her loving husband Samuel R. Bell and her 5 older brothers, Harry, Ralph, Richard, Darrell and Charles. She was the only girl and the youngest. She loved her brothers and they took good care of her when she was young.

Eloise leaves to cherish her memories precious daughters, Marcella Rundio, Rebecca Blackwell and husband Robert, Kristine Bell and Julie Peltier and husband Johnny; grandchildren Victoria and Benjamin Blackwell, Jennifer and Nathan Rundio, Samantha, John and Jackson Miller; brother Carl Orr of Ohio as well as many other extended family members and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres with interment will be 6:00pm at Baker Bell Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Friday at the church.

What a very very special lady! She always brightened up the room when she walked in. I can just imagine Heaven is more cheerful for her presence there and our extreme loss here. My thoughts and prayers are with Marcella, Becky, Kristine and Julie and families for strength and comfort. Eloise is in our future if we trust in Jesus as our Savior. Love, Joyce Orr Fowler

not only was Eloise my sister-in-law we became close friends from the time I came into the Orr family. We will grieve her loss together, but remember the good times - the fun times- even some hilarious times. How she loved to laugh! How we will miss her! Peace and love to you all. Aunt Nora Lee

More like a sister than aunt, the only person to ever have a birthday party for me. One of few women I have loved. The world is a far better place because of you. Jery

Aunt Eloise brought the sunshine into any room she entered and her just her voice would put smiles on every face. I only met her 3 times but I will never forget her. Heaven is brighter and earth is dimmer because she went Home. My deepest condolences to her girls and her grandchildren. You are all in my prayers.

We send our condolences to the entire family of our beloved Aunt Eloise. She was the best Aunt, Sister, Mother, Grammie and wife ever. She loved and took great care of us all, always there when you needed her. We will all miss her fun trips to Ohio as well as her enthusiastic family reunions. There are no words to express our sympathies. We love and miss her already. Love, Rick, Terri and sons

My friendship with Eloise goes back to when she and Bill were first married and they moved to Port Acres. We became the greatest of friends and spent a lot of time together. I will miss her dearly and I loved her deeply. Dot
