1928 - 2014
Mr. Richard Paul Kessenich, age 85, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was born in Waunakee, Wisconsin on June 29, 1928. He worked the majority of his life for Pet, Inc., from which he retired after 40 years. Richard worked very hard all his life to give his wife and children whatever he could. He taught his children a good work ethic and honesty. He lived in Michigan for the past 25 years near Derby Lake in Sidney. Richard was married to Janis Ann (Achtenberg) Kessenich in October of 1949 in a small, intimate ceremony in Middleton, Wisconsin, their hometown at the time. He will be forever missed by his wife, Janis; children, James (Maille) Kessenich, Julie (Bobby) Boggs, Jill Snyder, Joy (Tom Sauber) Kessenich, Jackie (Derrick) Gensler, and Jeremy (Sarah DeGuia-Kessenich) Kessenich; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There will be a private family memorial Mass for Richard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Stroke Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Our condolences to Janis and the family. I am a 1st cousin of Richard. While I haven't seen him in a number of years, we were close with his family when we were young. I remember him as a fine and upstanding young man. Once again our sympathies to the family.
