1914 - 2014
Lester Toler, 99 years and 364 days, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014. He was born June 14, 1914 in Amherstdale, WV. He was the last surviving child of the late Lewis Holly Toler and Clare Browning Toler. He was a retired employee of Appalachian Power Company, a member of Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Hatfield Toler and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Carlton and Sharon Toler of Huntington, WV; one grandson, Kevin of Louisville, Colorado; one granddaughter, Shellie of Granite Bay, California; seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Entombment will be in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Christus Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Victories, 3589 Wire Branch Road, Ona, WV 25545. The family would like to give a special thanks to Chateau Grove Assisted Living for their excellent care and especially to his caregiver, Donna. Les was a good friend. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years. We played golf and fished. The world can ill afford to lose men like him! Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I admired Lester for his strength of character and his faith . I will continue to be inspired about the actions he took and the things he said while he was alive. He will always live on in my memories of him. I love you Lester. Margaret Sue
