I have great memories of Pete Farmer--his contagious smile and fun sense of humor. Mr. Farmer never met a stranger and treated everyone with respect. I still have a copy of the great A&M reference he wrote for my daughter Cally. Praying for Lisa and his entire family.

I am so thankful my mom and Pete had 8 wonderful years. Pete was exceptionally good to my mom and together they lived a life of fun and faith. They always took the time in all their travels to find a church and attend Mass. Pete was a very kind and caring man to my mom. The years will always be cherished.

91 years, with nearly all of it serving his community, state and country, is a record to be remembered. Pete was a family friend before we were even born covering six generations of Powells, Richardsons and other friends and family. What loss and what coforting memories to have.

Pete was always the nicest man and always willing to help anyone. I grew up knowing this man and I thought he would out live us all to tell you the truth. The way he looked never changed even from when I was a child. He knew my Dad when they were growing up. He has taken care of alot of people I know and my Mom and Dad was two of them. I so appreciated him at that time. I loved that man dearly and I know he will be so missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends. Rest In Peace Pete you deserve it my friend.

I am very sorry to read about Mr. Farmer's death. Truly, a major era has come to an end for Silsbee, Hardin County, and SE Texas. Pete's father handled my grandfather's funeral in the late 50s. And, of course, Pete was in charge of the funerals for my dad (Fred Anders, '76)and my grandmother (Minnie Basar, '90. To point out Pete's kindness, the week before my mother died in Dec '13, was when Pete officially sold the business, but he personally took care of all the details for my mother's funeral. I will never forget the kindness that the entire Farmer family showed to my family for more than half-a-century. (I also won't forget my childhood friendship with Roddy, and it's renewal shortly before his death.) My sincerest sympathy to all of Pete's surviving family and friends. Micheal F. Anders, Ph.D., Findlay, Ohio

Pete was one of the truly purest men this area has ever known. Always a kind word. Always a smile. Always a nice story. Whether it was talking to him in the neighborhood, running into him in town or even during sad times of having to deal with events pertaining to his profession.....he would always have the right words for comfort and joy. Our condolences to the family. We all will miss him.
