Candy Beth Haugen Click for Condolences      Printable Version
2001 - 2014

Candy Beth HaugenCandy Beth Haugen, a young, beautiful woman who waged a courageous year-long battle with cancer, joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Candy entered this world on April 16, 2001, enriching the lives of her sister Nicole and parents Carol and Wally, all of Proctorville, Ohio. Candys beautiful spirit, wonderful love, and joy for life blessed all who knew her. Upon her diagnosis, Candy formed Candys Prayer Army to lift praise to the Lord. As President of the Army, Candy inspired others to lift prayers for ill children and raise funding for the Ronald McDonald House of Cincinnati, where she stayed during her initial treatment. Her leadership was contagious, and possessing wisdom beyond her years, she never took anything for granted in life. Candy excelled in the academic area and was inducted to the Fairland Middle School National Junior Honor Society on May 13, 2014. Of Candys many talents, her love of music added energy to her life, which she shared with others in dance. The Lord gave Candy to us for a short time; however, her legacy will continue in our hearts and through those she touched with her sweet spirit, strength, compassion and love. The Haugen family invites all those who knew and loved Candy to join us in celebration of her wonderful life. Visitation will be held on July 7, 2014 at the Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the Church. Service will be held at 1 p.m. July 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Proctorville, where Candy accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized on April 19, 2009. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Carol and Wally, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beautiful daughter, Candy. I did not know her, but knowing her mother and grandparents, I have no doubt she was a beautiful person as well. There are no words that can give you the comfort you need right now, but I felt led to at least express my condolences and let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family. When I read about Candy's love of music, I wondered if this was a gift from her Grandmother Vera. Although many years ago, I remember her beautiful singing voice and talent on the piano when I attended church with her as a child. Be comforted to know they are now together and making joyous music in Heaven. Kimble Hayes KHS/ 1975

To the Haugen family. My deepest condolences to the family. I was truly blessed to have had Candy's beautiful heart near me even though it was for a short moment. She inspired me and my family with her challenges and I know she is blessing the Lord with that same smile she blessed me with.

Candy was one of my students when she was in grade 6 at FMS. Candy was always a sweet girl, never making a comment without raising her hand. She had a innocent smile. In the past year, I had the pleasure of having her sister Nicole in class. Nicole is much the same as Candy, quiet and hard working. Although we have lost a friend, student, and family member, heaven has gained an angel. I will remember her always.

Dear Carol, Wally, and Nicole, we pray that you will be comforted and have a piece that passes all understanding in a way that only God can do. If it were possible, we would be there to celebrate Candy's life I recall her and Nicole coming to visit us when you took them for walks. We always liked seeing both of the girls. They looked forward to the cookies or Gold Fish crackers or sometimes a piece of fruit when they visited. "Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us." Palm 62:8

Carol,Wally and Nicole- Our hearts are broken -although Candy knows the LORD and is singing her praise in Heaven, she will be missed and loved very much. As parents, we should never outl live our children. As Haydyn said it... Candy fulfilled what God wanted of her on Earth so he called her home. We are just one call away. RIP sweet Candy.
