1926 - 2014
James Roy Browning, Jr., 88, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014 at St. Marys Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born February 1, 1926 in Cabell County, WV son of the late James Roy and Gladys Mae Allen Browning. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Danny Browning, Donald Browning and Bradford Browning; and four sisters Ruth Ganoe, Charlotte Curry, Emogene Galloway and Rosanna Dawson. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, member of Barboursville Minerva Masonic Lodge #13 AF & AM, 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and Gideon Eastern Lawrence County Camp. He retired from INCO Alloys and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife Clodine Reynolds Browning; two sons Thomas Browning of Columbus, Ohio and Samuel (Diane) Browning of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren Justin Browning and Andrea Browning; one brother Robert (Peggy) Browning of Barboursville, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Bill Flannery and Pastor Bob Browning. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Gideons International. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Dear Clodine, Sam and Tom. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I think the world of Jim and all of you. I am truly sorry that I cant be there for the service but, I will be there in my heart and mind. I am living in Va. a now and I watch my grandkids through he week. My deepest sympathy and love you. Please accept my condolences. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have some sweet memories of you and Jimmy from when I was a little girl, when we used to live next door to you. I remember having gone to church with you and Jimmy at Bethel. :) May God comfort and keep you.
