Thelma Jean Sims Services for Thelma Jean Sims, 85, of Village Mills will be at 10:00 am Monday, August 11, 2014 at First Baptist Church Warren with Brother Troy Richardson and Brother Kenneth Cauthen officiating. Services are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the church.

Mrs. Sims passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Shreveport, LA.

Thelma was born July 27, 1929 in Kansas City, MO. to John Wesley Harrington and Kathryn Bernice Campbell Harrington. She graduated from North West High School in Kansas City. She was an active member in her church and enjoyed all church activities, especially Ball Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband Pickett Sims; son Larry W. Sims, grandson Chase T. Sims, brothers David P. Harrington, Duane C. Harrington and Johnny Harrington and sister Carol Boatright.

Survivors include her daughter Linda Sims Salgado and husband Marcos of Carthage; sons Dale Sims and Clifford Sims and wife D.D. all of Village Mills; daughter-in-law Debbie Sims of Clear Lake; sister-in-law Juanita Harrington of Colorado; grandchildren Jerry Sims and wife Lisette of Houston, Mindy Andrews and husband Bradley of Carthage, Trey Salgado of Carthage, Brooke Broxton and husband Brandon of Kountze, Russell Parker and wife Cecelia of Leonard Town, Maryland, Brody Parker and wife Shayla of Warren, Michelle Gatliff and husband Kyle of Clear Lake and Jessie Foxworth and husband Levi of Warren and twelve great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church Warren 11645 US Highway 69 S Warren,Tx 77664.

I always thought of Thelma as my sister not sister-in-law. I loved the way she laughed in the face of adversity and kept going. She gave love to whomever was in need.

Our thoughts and prayers for each and every one of you as you grieve the loss of your loved one. We will definitely miss her sweet and loving presence at FBC-Warren. She was loved by so many and will be missed by ALL!
