We only met bonnie one time. She made a wonderful impression. So warm, friendly and funny. We had a great dinner together and hours of meaningful conversation. She was so sincere. We emailed often. I will miss her very much. God bless her! Love, mike, debbie and nathan.

Jeff, Crystal and Nathan, Bonnie was the most caring and giving friend. I have know her since the early 80"s when she, Sheila and I would "hang out" together as single mothers. I will never forget her and her sweet, sweet smile. I know she loved her family so much, especially her grandson. Praying for you as you say good-by to a wonderful mom and grandmother.

Bonnie is in a better place now with no pain. It makes us realize the more important things in life. It reminds us of the value of family and that when life gets in the way, we don't communicate like we should. Lori and I will try better.

Danny and I are so sad to hear of Bonnie's passing. Please know that even though we cannot be there that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Bonnie was such a beautiful person inside and out and always had such kind things to say about everyone she knew. And oh how she loved her grandson. He was the light of her life. We will miss you Bonnie.

Your family has a special place in our hearts!Bonnie and I shared a fun memory of me being her flower girl many years ago. It was so fun when Bonnie was here visiting a couple years ago to dig the flower girl dress out of my hope chest and show it to her. She was a very sweet and loving person and a great blessing to our family! Love and prayers to you all!

Though separated by miles and years, there has always been a soft spot in my heart for my cousins, the daughters of Mabel and John. There are so many memories of visits to the Grafton farm and East Grand Forks. I remember wondering once how she could like Elvis better than the Beatles! It's hard to believe Bonnie has left her loved ones here to join her loved ones in Heaven. To her family that loves her so...you are on my mind and in my prayers.

Bonnie Rae Welch, 70, of Barboursville, WV, passed away August 12, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 29, 1944, in Drayton, ND, a daughter of John Holler and Mabel Rutherford Holler. She was raised in Minnesota prior to moving to the Huntington, WV area in the early 1970s. She spent her career helping others working as a surgical technician at Huntington Hospital and later retired from Cabell Huntington Hospital after many years of service. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Crystal Welch of Huntington, WV; two sisters, Marjory Bruszer of Frisco, TX and Nancy (Jim) Ostergaard of Myrtle Beach, SC; her pride and joy grandson, Nathan Welch; special companion, Bill Bias and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington P.O. Box 464 Huntington, WV 25709. The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love Bonnie received during her illness. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Tom Sharp.
