Norman Ernest Davis age 88 of Greenville passed away Sunday August 17, 2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids. He was born in Coral MI on March 5, 1926 the son of Ernest A. and Cora E. (Weaver) Davis. Norm was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II. He retired from the former Tower Iron Works in Greenville with 35 years of service, was a member of Oakfield Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Lake Ann Church Camp and Camp Co-Be-Ac and for the Bethel Mission in Texas. For many years he participated in helping to build church buildings with Continental Baptist Missions.
Norm was married to his wife Rhoda for 55 years before her death in 2000, married to Lucille in 2001 and she preceded in 2006 and was married on June 17, 2009 to Crystal Wooster- Davis who survives.
He was also preceded in death by his son Larry in 2000 and his brothers, Tom, Eugene and Jerry Davis his sisters Blanche Low, Eloise Ostrander, Bonnie Rounds and May Antcliff.
He is survived by his wife Crystal of Greenville, his son Terry (Linda) Davis of Texas and daughter Connie (Greg) Hansen of Greenville, 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, his brother and sisters, Bill (Sharon) Davis of Trufant, Emma Rogers of Gowen and Alice (Ed) Jackson of Cedar Springs, many nieces, nephews, Lucilles family; Judy Lance, Sandy Wood, Vicky Mongeau, Danny Lance, Crystals family, Sandra Tyler, Sheryl (Dick) Miller, Elaine (Steve) Jacoby, Jim (Lorrie) Wooster, Marilyn (Ben) Rees and Tammy (Scott) Herron and many step grand and great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday evening at 7 PM at Oakfield Baptist Church with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Private burial will be in Oakfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Oakfield Baptist Church for Awana International for Papua New Guinea.
