Constance Manaw Curtis Winters, 90, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at home, three days shy of her 91st birthday on August 31, 2014. Everyone is welcome to attend a birthday party and celebration of a fulfilled life immediately following the burial at the home of Cristi Ramey-her special grandchild and end of life caretaker. She will be buried on her birthday as was her sister Sarah. Connie was a 29 year survivor of breast cancer and a 14 year survivor of kidney cancer but succumbed to thyroid cancer after a very short struggle. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Proctorville, Ohio. She was a graduate of Proctorville High School, attended Marshall University and was a 26 year member of Proctorville Teresa Chapter #257 OES. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Winters; her parents Howard and Esther Curtis; and two sisters Betty Dillon and Sarah Pockras. She is survived by three daughters Brenda Brammer (Charles) who gifted her with two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, Sharon Davis who gifted her with five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and Becky Manns who gifted her with four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild Dani Lynn, whom she held in her last hours, a beautiful experience for everyone; and a special friend Les Riley. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with her friend and neighbor Pastor Gordon Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Pallbearers will be Josh Ramey, Mark Ramey, Christopher Adkins, Joe Lemley, Dale Manns, Becky Manns and Billy Davis. In lieu of flowers of memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
