Funeral service for Woody Earl Spurlock, 87, of Silsbee will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Spurlock passed away September 3, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Woody was a native and longtime resident of Silsbee. He was a retired electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 479. Mr. Spurlock served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Woody is preceded in death by his parents William L. and Annie Lou Parker Spurlock; wife Doris Jean Spurlock; son Alvin Spurlock; daughter Connie Drawhorn; sisters Irma Strother and Judy McIntyre.
Survivors include sons Calvin Spurlock of Silsbee and Dale Graham of Houston; brother Wayne Spurlock of Brenham; sisters Annie Wiggins, Billie Gipson both of Silsbee and Betty Stringer of Evadale; grandchildren Brandon Spurlock, Selyna Spurlock, Keisha Spurlock, Melissa Ingram, Melvin Graham and Megan Dupree and ten great grandchildren.
